Halloween

This year, our Halloween was jeopardized by yet another typhoon coming in.  Fortunately, it was mostly wind and little rain, so even though we lost power, we were still able to go out in the neighborhood to trick-or-treat.  The boys have been really into Star Wars lately, even though we haven't let Laird watch the movies.  Having Jeffrey tell Laird about them was apparently enough to spark fanatical interest.  So this year we went with a Star Wars theme.

Apparently pumpkins are in pretty short supply here in the Philippines, and Sheralie was lucky to find even one.  For the rest, we had to settle for the close cousin, squash.  Sheralie and the kids put together an impressive display.

Princess Leia
The hair provided a nice cover for Lucy as it did rain on and off during our trick or treating.

The light sabers are in almost constant use, with the blue light saber being the favorite.

Sheralie was a very good looking Princess Leia as well, but declined the opportunity for a photograph.

  1. I didn't realize how far ahead you are in time zones. Your Halloween wrapped up several hours ago, and it's only 1 p.m. here. Our kids are super-excited and the sugar content of the household has yet to spike.

  2. Love, love, love the family costumes. My Adam is also very into Star Wars and would have loved to dress up with your family. Also, cute & creative pumpkins- I like the squash.

  3. I just think a 5 1/2 month pregnant Princess Leia looks silly!

  4. My boys are SO JEALOUS of Jeffrey's X-wing pilot costume. Love the princess hair too. . .ha ha ha.

And Sheralie - I've been the pregnant Leia before and yes, I looked pretty silly. . .

May the Force be with you all!

  5. Did you already have the costumes or did you happen to find them in the Phillipines?

  6. Neither. I ordered them in advance from the US. One of the nice parts about working for the government overseas is the DPO - you can have them shipped to a box in CA and then it will be delivered to your post - and all you have to pay is US shipping. It is sometimes pretty fast - these costumes only took a week or so.

  7. It must be a Star Wars Halloween - we had a Darth Vader raiding our household.
