News on the new addition!

To follow up the news of a couple posts ago, we visited the doctor's ultrasound machine today (we, unlike Tom Cruise, do not own our own personal ultrasound machine). The results: it's a girl!! We are pretty happy, although some are happier than others. If you have any ideas for names, please post on the blog, and we will totally disregard them when making the actual decision.

Also, congrats to my parents on their anniversary today. 31 years of non-stop wedded bliss. Well, there may have been some breaks in the bliss part.

So as to follow Christina Erickson's rule of always posting a picture, I dug up this old picture of Laird at the beach. I hope these old pictures don't confuse people - he's quite a bit bigger now, but it's a cute picture - I mean, what 1 year old eats rice cakes at the beach? I didn't post a picture of the ultrasound, because it only happened an hour ago and I don't have the pictures and I find those pictures pretty weird anyway.

Austin

I took a quick trip to Austin with the summer recruits for V&E. There was a lot of food to eat, but the activities were few - it was so hot that there wasn't much we could do outside. I did manage to see Spiderman 3, visit the Texas capitol (it's very big), the LBJ presidential library and museum and the UT campus.



I have never been to a presidential library/museum, and I was very impressed. I thought it was very well done. Every president since Hoover has made a presidential library (except Nixon), so they are scattered throughout the country.



I got the boys UT t-shirts so that we can have something to wear during college football season. I will probably need to get BYU t-shirts too so they don't get the wrong idea about college loyalty.

Christina and Charlotte visit 13611

Christina and Charlotte are in town for June (one of the worst months to visit Houston). With Mom and Dad out of town, Christina and Charlotte paid us a visit. Jeffrey and Laird were very excited to meet their only cousin for the first time.

Seinfeld

Jerry Seinfeld does not do many shows any more. Why should he? He's rich and he's got kids! If I were rich, I probably not work very much. But he does, probably because his job is a lot more enjoyable than mine. This is the first time he has been to Houston in three years, and we were there to see him for the first show. Very funny. Highly recommended to anyone who found the original Seinfeld show funny. I laughed so much I cried. That rarely happens.
