Happy Halloween!

Here in San Salvador we celebrated Halloween on Friday night, not because that is a local custom, it's just easier to have a party on Friday night than Monday night.  Our theme this year was the Wizard of Oz.

Introducing our cast of characters, we have James as Toto:

While Toto almost never left the side of Dorothy, we did catch him walking around briefly before the madness began:

James was also mistaken for one of the flying monkeys, which is an honest mistake, as he is significantly bigger than Toto.

Next up is the good witch, Glinda:

Next up, Laird as the cowardly lion.  Here he is being ferocious:

And here he is, five minutes later, being cowardly:

Jeff starred as the Scarecrow:

With Sheralie as Dorothy and me as the Tin Man:

However, I did forget my ax, and I was mistaken for an astronaut a couple times.

The Embassy was very well decorated and we went from office to office trick or treating.  The elevator situation was a bit congested, but in the end, we all got through.  This was followed by general desserts and a BBQ.  By the end of the night, it took us half an hour to round up all the kids, as we would lose one while looking for another, but overall a very festive evening.
